Kurukshetra University awarded Haryana Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini an honorary Doctor of Literature (D. Litt) degree in Social Science for his outstanding work in social and political fields. The degree was given to him during the 34th Convocation Ceremony held at the University's Srimad Bhagavat Gita Sadan in 2025.

About Nayab Singh Saini

Nayab Singh Saini is an Indian politician and the 11th Chief Minster of Haryana. He earlier served as a Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha from the Kurukshetra constituency from 2019 to 2024.Saini began his political journey after joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in its Ambala Unit, where he first worked as a Computer Operator in the party office. With time, he took on bigger responsibilities and became the General Secretary of the Haryana BJP Morcha and an active member of the BJP’s Ambala Youth Wing.In 2010, he contested his first Assembly Election from the Naraingarh constituency but lost to Ramkishan Gurjar. Four years later, in 2014, he won the seat by 24,361 votes and became a member of the Haryan Legislative Assembly.In 2019 General Elections, Saini was elected to the Lok Sabha from Kurukshetra. In 2023, he was appointed as the President of the Haryana BJP.Nayab Singh Saini became the Chief Minister of Haryana in March 2024 after the resignation of former Chief Minister Monohar Lal Khatlar. In October 2024, he was won the Haryana Assembly Elections from the Ladwa seat and took oath as Chief Minister for his second term on 17 October 2024.
