Nayab Singh Saini is an Indian politician and the 11th Chief Minster of Haryana. He earlier served as a Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha from the Kurukshetra constituency from 2019 to 2024.
Saini began his political journey after joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in its Ambala Unit, where he first worked as a Computer Operator in the party office. With time, he took on bigger responsibilities and became the General Secretary of the Haryana BJP Morcha and an active member of the BJP’s Ambala Youth Wing.
In 2010, he contested his first Assembly Election from the Naraingarh constituency but lost to Ramkishan Gurjar. Four years later, in 2014, he won the seat by 24,361 votes and became a member of the Haryan Legislative Assembly.
In 2019 General Elections, Saini was elected to the Lok Sabha from Kurukshetra. In 2023, he was appointed as the President of the Haryana BJP.
Nayab Singh Saini became the Chief Minister of Haryana in March 2024 after the resignation of former Chief Minister Monohar Lal Khatlar. In October 2024, he was won the Haryana Assembly Elections from the Ladwa seat and took oath as Chief Minister for his second term on 17 October 2024.
Nayan Singh Saini was born on 25 January 1970 in the small village of Mirzapur, Majra near Ambala, Haryana. His father, Telu Ram, served in the Indian Army and later worked as a farmer after retirement. He passed away in 2005 due to a heart attack. His mother, Smt. Kulwant Kaur, is a homemaker.
Saini completed his Graduation in 1996 from Babsaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bihar University in Muzaffarpur. He later pursued a Law Degree and earned his LLB from Chaudhury Charan Singh University, Meerut in 2010.
In 2000, Nayab Singh Saini married Suman Saini, who is also a politician and an active BJP worker. The couple has two children – a son, Ankit Saini, and a daughter, Vanshika Saini.
Nayab Singh Saini joined the BJP’s Ambala Unit, where he first worked in a supportive role as a Computer Operator in the party office.
Nayab Singh Saini contested his first Haryana Assembly Election from the Naraingarh seat in 2010. He lost the election to Ramkishan Gurjar and finished fifth receiving a little over 8,000 votes.
Even though he grew up in a simple rural background, he continued his studies and completed a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in 1996. Later, he earned his Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from Chaudhury Charan Singh University, Meerut in 2010.
