Nayab Singh Saini joined the Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) Unit in Ambala in 1996. He began his work as a Computer Operator and later became the General Secretary of the Haryana BJP Kisan Morcah.
In 2010, he contested his first MLA election from the Narayangarh Constituency but lost. He contested again in 2014 and won with a good margin. From 2014 to 2019, he served as an MLA and also a Minister of State.
In 2019 General Election, Saini was elected as Member of Parliament from the Kurukshetra Constituency. In 2023, he was appointed as the State President for Haryana.
In March 2024, Saini became the Chief Minister of Haryana after Manohar Lal Khaltar resigned. After winning the 2024 Haryana Assembly Elections from the Ladwa constituency, he took oath as Chief Minister for his second term.
