Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Receives Ahilyabai Holkar Award 2025

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta was conferred with the Rajmata Ahilyabai Holkar Award 2025 for her contributions to women empowerment.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta was honoured with the Rajmata Ahilyabai Holkar Award 2025 for her contribution to women empowerment.

Speaking at the award ceremony held on the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Chief Minister expressed her gratitude for receiving the honour. She said the award belongs not only to her but to all women who are working hard to bring positive change in society.

“This honour is for every woman who is contributing to society with determination, courage and hard work. Our government id fully committed to empowering women through education, health, safety and self-reliance,” Rekha Gupta said.

She added that when women become empowered, both society and the nation move forward.

The Chief Minister also said that the Delhi government is introducing new schemes in the fields of education, healthcare and employment to make women more self-reliant.

Rekha Gupta highlighted that the Delhi government has already launched several initiatives for women, including free bus travel for women, CCTV camera installations, women helpline services and the Mohalla Marshal Scheme. She said these schemes will be further strengthened in the coming years.

Rekha Gupta is an Indian politician and lawyer who is currently serving as the 9th Chief Minister of Delhi. She is a well-known leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and has been connected with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) since her childhood. She is the 4th woman is Delhi’s history to become Chief Minster, after Sushma Swaraj, Sheila Dikshit and Atishi Marlena.Rekha Gupta stared his political journey in 1992 when she joined Daulat Ram College at Delhi University and became a member of the student union Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP).She was elected President of the Delhi University Student’s Union in 1996. Later, she served as a councilor in the North Delhi Municipality Corporation for Uttari Pitampura in 2007 and 2012. Later, became Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the Shalimar Bagh constituency, eventually rising to the post of Chief Minister of Delhi.
