Pema Khandu, son of former Arunachal Pradesh CM late Dorjee Khandu, is an Indian politician and the 9th Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, serving since 2016. He belongs to the Monpa tribe and was ranked as the second richest Chief Minister of Indian in 2024 by the Association of Democratic Reforms (ADR).
Since taking office, he and his government have changed party affiliations from the Indian national Congress (INC) to People’s Party of Arunachal (PPA) in September 2016, and later to the Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) in December 2016.

Pema Khandu completed his graduation in 2000, earning an Honours degree in History (Arts stream) from Hindu College, University of Delhi.
After finished his secondary education, Pema Khandu took admission in Donyi-Polo Vidya Bhawan in Itanagar for his senior secondary education. In 1997 he completed his higher secondary education from Donyi-Polo.
Pema Khandu completed his early schooling at Government Secondary School, Bomba in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh in 1995.
